The City of Kigali has issued new guidelines for Nyarutarama running track usage urging the general public to walk pets on paved areas provided.
According to the statement released on Monday, January 9, the running track located in Nyarutarama is dedicated to only “physical exercise activities with proper running shoes and sportswear.”
“When walking pets, please use the paved areas provided,” the statement reads. It adds: “with the exception of elders and individuals with disabilities, the use of batons is not permitted.”

Avoid passing in the garden surrounding the running track, spitting on the tract and littering on track are other guidelines included in the statement.
The 2.4 kilometers long track, a special lane painted in a vivid green, was unveiled by Kigali City as a public space for sports activities and promoting fitness among Kigali residents.
