Lake Kivu is well-known for its biggest sand beach and Methane Gas which is being exploited for an increase of more energy to the locals in western province, in Rwanda.
It is also one of tourism destinations where people come from all the corners of the country to enjoy its flesh water.
Kivu lies between the border of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Rwanda as the sixth African great lakes.
There are couple of beautiful islands here including a well-known island as ‘Napoleon’ which is the highest, it takes up to 15 minutes to reach on the top.
The tour starts at the Monkey Island heading to Napoleon where you have to climb up, meeting with a lot bats. And the next stop is Amahoro [Translated as Peace Island].
