President Paul Kagame has dismissed Patrick Hitayezu from The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN) as Chief Economist over gross misconduct.
According to a communiqué released by the Office of the Prime Minister on Wednesday, November 2, Hitayezu “has been dismissed from his duties due gross misconduct in performing his duties.”
Prior to his appointment in June 2022, Hitayezu worked as Director, Research Department at National Bank of Rwanda.
